Graduate Engineering Mechanics Society
About
The Graduate Engineering Mechanics Society exists to promote community and collaboration around topics in Engineering Mechanics, primarily for students pursuing a degree or conducting research in the Engineering Mechanics graduate program. It will accomplish this by holding social, outreach, and professional development events for its members throughout the year.
The organization will also provide a formalized means of communication between the faculty and the students. Students with any issues or concerns can have GEMS speak to the faculty of the program on their behalf.
This organization also intends to work with the Society of Biomedical Engineering and Sciences to promote collaboration between the two graduate programs in the Department of Biomedical Engineering and Mechanics.
